My Story

I'm a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with nearly 30 years in nursing and a clinical philosophy built around one core belief: sleep and mental health are inseparable.

I became a nurse in 1996 and a psychiatric NP in 2019, but my understanding of sleep as a clinical priority started long before that. Years of evening and overnight shifts showed me, repeatedly and firsthand, how profoundly rest shapes every dimension of health. It's not a lifestyle factor. It's a foundation.

That experience is what led me to pursue specialized training in sleep medicine alongside my psychiatric practice. I completed CBT-I training and the Mini-Fellowship in Behavioral Sleep Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania - one of the few programs of its kind - and I bring that expertise directly into my work with patients managing depression, anxiety, ADHD, and chronic insomnia.

My approach is integrative. That means medication, when appropriate, is one tool among many, not the default. It also means I draw on a range of evidence-informed restorative practices to support nervous system regulation and deep recovery: Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra, Reiki (Level II certified), vibroacoustic therapy, and restorative yoga. I'm currently pursuing certification in iRest Yoga Nidra meditation through the iRest Institute.

I'm also a certified Forest Therapy Guide through The Forest Therapy School - because healing doesn't only happen in a clinical setting.

I hold undergraduate and graduate nursing degrees from Northeastern University in Boston.

A note on my values: I'm a Health at Every Size® provider. I've seen how much harm weight-focused care causes, and how differently people respond when they're treated with respect rather than judgment. Every person who comes to me deserves care that meets them where they are - regardless of their size, their history, or how complicated things have gotten.

I live and practice in the beautiful Berkshires of Massachusetts.
